- Revolution Museum and Granma Memorial, Calle Refugio e/Zulueta y Monserrate, in Old Havana. Housed in the former Presidential Palace, this is a museum of 20th-century Cuban history detailing the Cuban Revolution. Meticulously detailed exhibits, wax statues, thousands of photographs, and newspaper clippings. Historical items, with Spanish/English captions. Che Guevara exhibit, and the Granma yacht on display outside. CUC $8.
- Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (Cuban collection) Calle Trocadero e/Zulueta y Monserrate, Old Havana. Cuba’s most important art museum and one of the best in Latin America, recently renovated. Works by Wifredo Lam, René Portocarrero, Amelia Peláez, and other important Cuban artists. A must-see. CUC$5 or combined with the international collection CUC $8.
- Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (International Collection) Housed in the spectacular former Centro Asturiano, this museum displays a broad collection of European and American art, as well as Greek and Egyptian artifacts. CUC $5, or CUC $8 in combination with entrance to Cuban collection.
•Museo de la Ciudad, Plaza de Armas, Old Havana. This building was the former Spanish Governor’s mansion and the headquarters of the Colonial Government, then the three Colonial Republics until 1920, and the Town Council up until the Revolution. Historical information about Havana’s history, with many ne examples of colonial-era art objects, furniture, and household items. CUC $3.
